Strength is Required

The Messenger of God ﷺ stated, “The strong believer is better than the weak, yet there is goodness in both.”

Perhaps one of the most valuable lessons that we can learn as Muslims and as people of conscientiousness in light of the current and ongoing genocide being committed against the indigenous Palestinian people is that sadly, the world is such that the strong make and break the rules as they see fit, and that if a people are to experience any degree of safety and security, they must develop, cultivate and awaken strength so as to protected and preserve themselves from transgression.

Strength is Required

It is tragic, yet humanity is still for the most part ruled by the lower self and its base nature, and the powers that be still govern primarily out of unconsciousness, fear, greed and self-interest without emptahy—what the Messenger of God ﷺ referred to as jahiliyya, or a state of ignorance.

Therefore and quite simply, in order to protect ourselves from tyranny, abuse, oppression and exploitation, we as Muslims and as believers must unequivocally become empowered. We must return to a state of strength, for doing so is a religious duty.

Allah Almighty states in the Qur’an, “You are the best of nations evolved for mankind, enjoining good and preventing evil, and believing in God. If only the People of the Book truly believed, it would have been better for them; yet most are evildoers.”

You are the best of nations evolved for mankind, enjoining good and preventing evil, and believing in God. If only the People of the Book truly believed, it would have been better for them; yet most of them are but evildoers.

Surah Al Imran (3:110)

In reading this sacred verse of the Holy Qur’an, it is imperative that we realize that 1) it is our mandate and duty as deputies of Allah Almighty within creation to seek to establish justice upon the earth by enjoining good and preventing evil, and 2) in order to be able to fulfill such a mandate, we must possess the strength and capacity to do so.

Also, we must remain true to our covenant with Allah Almighty when in a position of strength and act with fairness, justice, mercy and compassion, firmly standing against evil wherever it manifests whether externally or within our own ranks, [4:135], for Allah Almighty requires us of us excellence and nobility, and loves not they who transgress, [2:190].

In summary, strength is required of us both in our selves and our personal lives, as well as collectively as a nation and as a peoples united by faith. Lastly we remember that true strength and justice originates from the heavens and with God, and we pray that Allah Almighty through His divine power re-establish inspired and illuminated leadership within the Ummah, and that He grant us to live and see the days of the rebirth of the Muslim Nation and the return of Jesus (as).

Allahumma ameen.

To your divine and eternal strength.
